COTA NT created Seniors Expos to bring people together – to foster community connections, to help conversations happen and to celebrate the contribution that seniors continue to make to the Northern Territory.
The first Seniors Expo focused on an open “one-stop” community event specifically for seniors – where stakeholder smet with service providers, businesses and community groups focusing on seniors’ issues, concerns and lifestyle. Lord Mayor of Darwin, Katrina Fong Lim described Seniors EXPO as a “very special community event”.

The first Seniors EXPO was held in Darwin in 2015 and won the Australia Day Award for Community Event of the Year award. It attracted over 400 people. The latest Darwin Expo attracted over 2 500. COTA NT’s Seniors Expos in all regions continue to grow from strength to strength – in reach and reputation (see what people say about COTA NT’s Expos).
